On the first day of Pesach the Chazzan's repetition of the Musaf Amidah is extended, incorporating the Prayers for Dew into the middle of the first couple blessings of the Musaf Amidah. In the context of the service, these first blessings are amended as follows: The Ark is opened at this time.

אֲדֹנָי, שְׂפָתַי תִּפְתָּח,

My Lord, open my lips,

וּפִי יַגִּיד תְּהִלָּתֶךָ:

and my mouth shall declare Your praise.

אבות – Patriarchs Bend at בָּרוּךְ, bow at אַתָּה, and straighten up at יְיָ:

בָּרוּךְ אַתָּה יְיָ אֱלֹהֵינוּ וֵאלֹהֵי אֲבוֹתֵינוּ, אֱלֹהֵי אַבְרָהָם, אֱלֹהֵי יִצְחָק, וֵאלֹהֵי יַעֲקֹב, הָאֵל הַגָּדוֹל הַגִּבּוֹר וְהַנּוֹרָא אֵל עֶלְיוֹן, גּוֹמֵל חֲסָדִים טוֹבִים, קוֹנֵה הַכֹּל, וְזוֹכֵר חַסְדֵּי אָבוֹת, וּמֵבִיא גוֹאֵל לִבְנֵי בְנֵיהֶם לְמַעַן שְׁמוֹ בְּאַהֲבָה: מֶלֶךְ, עוֹזֵר וּמוֹשִׁיעַ וּמָגֵן:

Blessed are You, Lord our God and God of our fathers, God of Abraham, God of Isaac and God of Jacob, the great, mighty and awesome God, exalted God, who bestows bountiful kindness, who creates all things, who remembers the piety of the Patriarchs, and who, in love, brings a redeemer to their children’s children, for the sake of His Name. O King, [You are] a helper, a savior and a shield.

בְּדַעְתּוֹ אַבִּיעָה חִידוֹת, בְּעַם זוֹ בְּזוֹ בְּטַל לְהַחֲדוֹת. טַל גֵּיא וּדְשָׁאֶיהָ לַחֲדוֹת, דָּצִים בְּצִלּוֹ לְהֵחָדוֹת, אוֹת יַלְדֻת טַל לְהָגֵן לְתוֹלָדוֹת.

With His consent, I will speak of hidden things amidst this people, to bring them joy through this prayer for dew. Dew—to gladden the earth and its herbage that rejoice and are happy in His protective shade. Dew—the symbol of youth, to protect [our] progeny.

Bend at בָּרוּךְ, bow at אַתָּה, and straighten up at יְיָ:

בָּרוּךְ אַתָּה יְיָ, מָגֵן אַבְרָהָם:

Blessed are You, Lord, Shield of Abraham.

גבורות – God's Might

אַתָּֽה גִּבּֽוֹר לְעוֹלָֽם אֲדֹנָֽי,

You are mighty forever, my Lord;

מְחַיֶּֽה מֵתִֽים אַתָּֽה,

You resurrect the dead;

רַב לְהוֹשִֽׁיעַ:

You are powerful to save.

תְּהוֹמוֹת הֲדֹם לִרְסִיסוֹֹ כְסוּפִים, וְכָל נְאוֹת דֶּשֶׁא לוֹ נִכְסָפִים, טַל זִכְרוֹ גְּבוּרוֹת מוֹסִיפִים, חָקוּק בְּגִישַׁת מוּסָפִים, טַל לְהַחֲיוֹת בּוֹ נְקוּקֵי סְעִיפִים:

The depths of the earth which is His footstool, 3 yearn for its drops, and all grassy meadows long for it. Dew—the remembrance of which increases [the praise of] His might, instituted to be said in the Musaf prayer. Dew—destined to revive 4 [the dead who rest even] in the clefts of the rocks.

The custom is for this following stanzas to be said responsively. The Chazzan recited the first stanza, followed by the congregation; the subsequent stanzas are said first by the congregation and then repeated by the Chazzan.

אֱלֹהֵינוּ וֵאלֹהֵי אֲבוֹתֵינוּ:

Our God and God of our fathers:

טַל תֵּן לִִרְצּוֹת אַרְצָךְ, שִׁיתֵנוּ בְרָכָה בְּדִיצָךְ, רֹב דָּגָן וְתִירוֹשׁ בְּהַפְרִיצָךְ, קוֹמֵם עִיר בָּהּ חֶפְצָךְ, בְּטַל:

Iè Give dew to placate Your land; set us up as a blessing in Your joy through Your bestowal of an abundance of grain and wine; re-establish [Jerusalem] the city in which is Your delight—with dew.

טַל צַוֵּה שָׁנָה טוֹבָה וּמְעֻטֶרֶת, פְּרִי הָאָרֶץ לְגָאוֹן וּלְתִפְאֶרֶת, עִיר כְּסֻּכָּה נוֹתֶרֶת, שִׂימָהּ בְּיָדְךָ עֲטֶרֶת, בְּטַל:

Iè Decree dew for a good year, crowned with the fruit of the earth for glory and beauty; the City left like a [deserted] booth, make her into a crown with Your hand—with dew.

טַל נוֹפֵת עֲלֵי אֶרֶץ בְּרוּכָה, מִמֶּגֶד שָׁמַיִם שַׂבְּעֵנוּ בְרָכָה, לְהָאִיר מִתּוֹךְ חֲשֵׁכָה, כַּנָּה אַחֲרֶיךָ מְשׁוּכָה, בְּטַל:

Iè Grant sweet dew upon the blessed land; from the precious things of heaven satiate us with blessing; shine from amid darkness upon Israel who are drawn to You—with dew.

טַל יַעֲסִיס צוּף הָרִים, טְעֵם בִּמְאֹדֶךָ מֻבְחָרִים, חֲנוּנֶיךָ חַלֵץ מִמַּסְגְּרִים, זִמְרָה נַנְעִים וְקוֹל נָרִים, בְּטַל:

Iè Let dew sweeten like honey [the crops of] the mountains; let Your chosen ones savor Your goodness; deliver Your beloved ones from bondage, then we will raise our voices and sing sweet songs—with dew.

טַל וָשׂבַע מַלֵּא אֲסָמֵינוּ, הֲכָעֵת תְּחַדֵּשׁ יָמֵינוּ, דּוֹד כְּעֶרְכְּךָ הַעֲמֵד שְׁמֵנוּ, גַּן רָוֶה שִׂימֵנוּ, בְּטַל:

Iè With dew fill our granaries with abundance; renew our days as of old; Beloved One, establish our name commensurate with Yours; make us as a well-watered garden—with dew.

טַל בּוֹ תְבָרֵךְ מָזוֹן, בְּמַשְׁמַנֵּינוּ אַל יְהִי רָזוֹן, אֲיֻמָּה אֲשֶׁר הִסַּעְתָּ כַצֹּאן, אָנָּא תָּפֵק לָהּ רָצוֹן, בְּטַל:

Iè With dew You shall bless our sustenance; let there be no scarcity in our fullness; to the nation that You led like sheep, please cause satisfaction—with dew.

Chazzan:

שָׁאַתָּה הוּא יְיָ אֱלֹהֵינוּ מַשִּׁיב הָרוּחַ וּמוֹרִיד הַטָּל:

For You are the Lord our God, who causes the wind to blow and the dew to descend.

The following verses are said responsively, first by congregation then repeated by the Chazzan; the congregation responds אָמֵן were indicated upon hearings the Chazzan's repetition:

לִבְרָכָה וְלֹא לִקְלָלָה: אָמֵן

For a blessing and not for a curse. (Amen)

לְחַיִּים וְלֹא לַמָּוֶת: אָמֵן

For life and not for death. (Amen)

לְשׂבַע וְלֹא לְרָזוֹן: אָמֵן

For plenty and not for scarcity. (Amen)
