Open in the free interactive Siddur →Before putting on the tallit katan, examine the tzitzit. Stand and hold the tzitzit in the right hand, recite the blessing, then kiss the tzitzit before releasing them. One who wears a tallit gadol for the morning prayer does not recite a blessing over the tallit katan.
Stand with the folded tallit on the right shoulder and examine the tzitzit while reciting the following.
Unfold the tallit, kiss its upper edge, and swing it around behind you; recite the blessing while enwrapping the head and upper body, bearing in mind that God commanded us to enwrap ourselves in it to remember all His commandments.
Remain enwrapped while reciting the following, then drape the tallit over the head, shoulders, and back for the entire time of prayer.
